The world needs less Kardashian and more folks like Laura Ingalls.
Less tearin' down of good ol' barns and more replacin' of the shingles.
The world needs less alcohol abuse and drug misuse as well.
Let's order up some good black joe or water from a deep country well.
If only there were less shootings by crazy men all tripped out on who knows what.
And more shootings by heroes like John Wayne fighting for truth and protecting all of us.
The world needs less MTV and exposure to things that shouldn't be spoken aloud.
We need more trips down country roads and lessons on keeping our conduct proud.
If only we could use entitlement giveaways to turn more money over to our soldiers.
If only we could put a higher value on moral, character and composure.
The world needs less of high education, that allows us to answer correctly without thinking.
If only we were inspired by school so that each of us would be passionately seeking.
The world needs to understand that what we are doing today will have consequences later.
A good name is something hard to get and something we should strive to keep forever.
We shouldn't bow our knee to the god of government but to the God of our heart.
Maybe just listenin' to those golden oldies is the place we need to start.
Who wouldn't learn from a song like"You've got to stand for somethin' or you'll fall for anything"?
"Live like you were dyin'" or "Amazing Grace" but some of these songs people no longer sing.
I've said to my mom's dad "tell me 'bout the good ol' days" he does and how I envy them.
There was a time when people had respect and knew "You don't have to fight to be a man."
"Don't take your love to town." went along with "Stand by your man." but people think that's hard.
"You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em" but we can't dictate the dealt cards.
Sometimes we get so overcharged on feelings and lose all grasp of fact, I wish someone would yell this:
"Just Cowboy up." To find someone "Tougher than the rest" is an idea that seems to have died with Chris.
It's time we do more "Fishin' in the dark" and makin' "Friends in low places."
Maybe then it won't be a crime to sing about lovin' people with "Funny Faces."
Remember when our biggest worries were "Countin' flowers on the wall" and havin' an "Ace in the hole"?
I'm convinced there still are many great people in our world "you just can't see 'em from the road."
