It’s fall and harvest time has rolled around
We always look forward to it in our little town.
It’s a time to share all of the goods we’ve grown
And to make our green thumbs ever known.
Pumpkins, potatoes and beans that are green,
Tomatoes and cucumbers we’ve got everything.
Zucchini! Well everyone has a bunch.
We’ll eat it for breakfast and supper and lunch.
We give away produce and trade it for more
We only had a few, now we have a score!
But giving and taking ain’t what it’s all about.
There will be plenty of cannin’ I have no doubt.
And even though now it’s very labor intense,
Come winter time it will be our recompense.
During the spring we’ll start to plant again,
and before we know it another harvest season will begin.
